FASHION TIPS FOR MEN

Posted in fashion & other accessories on January 17, 2010 by cailee

As a typical female i love watching guys with their wonderful suit and style of their clothing. A man could look as dashing and very stylish or completely absurd. It is necessary that a man chooses models, fabrics, patterns as well as colors that compliment his shape and minimize its faults. Clothing has a profound effect on whether a man looks fatter or skinnier, shorter or taller.

WHITE: This color gives the appearance of crispness and simplicity. When matched with very dark colors or gray, has a regal feel to it. The downside is that if it is the slightest bit dirty, it will draw attention to itself quickly.

RED: A very warm color, considered the most passionate and sexiest color of all. Its a nice idea to go with a bit of red, when going on a date. Also, in business atmospheres, a red tie can signal that you are bold and confident.

YELLOW: Be careful with this “sunny and happy” color, It is hard to pull off for some men. Although men with contrasting features, such as dark, bronzed, or brown skin, can achieve a very nice look with it. But anyone can wear it in moderation, and no man should overdose on yellow.

BLUE: The most relaxing colors in the spectrum. Can have a calming effect on others and make you seem approachable. Dark Blue – Is one of the most relaxing colors in the spectrum. Can have a calming effect on others and make you seem approachable. Dark blue indicates strength, while lighter blues appear friendly. blue indicates strength, while lighter blues appear friendly.

ORANGE: A truly versatile and under-utilized color. Shirts in rusty shades look great, especially if you have dark hair. But be careful not to dominate an outfit with bright shades of this color, use judiciously.

BROWN: Define as a handsome color. Masculine and Earthy. Mid-range shades are not always the best choice for really fair-skinned men. But remember Men’s fashion tips are simply a guide, never be afraid to experiment. To look really sharp, we suggest going with very deep, dark shoes.

PURPLE: The color of royalty, purple is best in small doses. It can add flavor to ties and dress shirts, but please don’t overdo it with the color purple, it just isn’t a good look.

GREEN: Shades of bright green don’t look great on many people, but darker shades can be a nice change-of-pace from too much blue ia a man’s wardrobe.

GRAY: Deep charcoal grays are great for suits and are a very flattering color. Lighter grays are nice as well; they go with almost any other color. Only make sure you give light grays a little flavor, by what you match with it, you NEVER want to look bland.

BLACK: It is very elegant. No man should be without a black suit. Black conveys power, confidence and even a little bit of danger. Appropriate for almost any situation.

Of course majority of ladies would love to be given a present especially chocolates, flowers, jewelries, perfumes but for me, nothing could be sweeter than chocolate! The lenten season

Posted in faith, family & Friendship on April 1, 2009 by cailee

One of Christian ways is having a Lenten season. What is Lenten season? The word “Lent” actually means “fast”. Lenten season is a time for soul-searching, repentance and a forty-day season of preparation for Easter. It is always begins on a Wednesday, called Ash Wednesday. Why is it 40 days? Jesus fasted and was tempted in the wilderness for 40 days. This is our time of fasting, prayer, temptation and repentance. Lent is not required anywhere in scriptures, but it has been a custom, which Christians have practiced for most of the last two thousand years.

During Lent we follow Jesus from his adult ministry through his suffering during Holy Week and his crucifixion and death on Good Friday. And we read the Psalms that foretell what would happen during that week.

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, also called Sunday of the Passion, and continues through Holy Thursday (when Holy Communion was instituted at the Last Supper) and Good Friday, when Jesus was tried, crucified, and buried.
Jesus carrying the cross

The Last Supper was celebrated during the Feast of the Passover, which is calculated on the phases of the moon, Easter is called a movable feast. Lent is scheduled backwards from Easter. Easter falls on the first Sunday after the full moon after the spring equinox. The forty days of fasting and penitence during Lent do not include Sundays. Christians always celebrate Sunday as the day Jesus rose from the dead, so it is never a day of fasting.

HISTORY

Lent originated in the very earliest days of the Church as a preparatory time for Easter, when the faithful rededicated themselves and when converts were instructed in the faith and prepared for baptism. By observing the forty days of Lent, the individual Christian imitates Jesus withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days. All churches that have a continuous history extending before AD 1500 observe Lent. The ancient church that wrote, collected, canonized, and propagated the New Testament also observed Lent, believing it to be a commandment from the apostles.
