Christmas, Christmas, Christmas… Christmas was finally over, I can’t stop myself reminiscing the moment last night. I spent my time with my friends together last night, they visited me at home. I’m too thankful I got a friend like them they make me so happy and they were there to cheer me up whenever I’m so down and too lonely. Anyway, what we did last night we assembled my tent outside - (the one that Sean given me) , we grilled the marinated pork belly, my friend brought a red wine, we made a mango float and finally we ate dinner together… grinned… We keep talking, laughing and drinking some red wine. Unnoticed that time were running too fast…At about 11pm, they bid their goodbyes and I was lonely again… Hoping we could spend more time together..

My Christmas vacation

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Me and my friends gathered last night,5 guys and 4 ladies (including me) I can’t help laughing out loud, talking and bubbling a lot about our escapades during our college days. Actually, since we graduate we haven’t spent time each other so much. We can’t even stay longer  and we don’t have much time to talk because we are too busy in our respective work/ profession. With this, we came up a great decision that next week we will go to Camiguin Island  and we will be staying at Bahay- Bakasyunan Resort. Too Glad because next week I got a 1 week vacation leave - enough to relax and have fun with my friends- (It would be fun going with them because seldom of us gathers ..)

Well, I bought a Man’s sterling silver identity bracelet  and a toe ring for my friends. Wink! So what I did, introduce the silver accessories to my friend. We went to the Unisilver Shop and she bought a necklace for his bf as a present this coming Christmas.

All About Silver jewelry:

Gold is much expensive than the silver jewelries. But nowadays majority of people likes silver. You know why? If you like the look of platinum, but cannot afford the price tag, silver jewelry is a great alternative. The shiniest of all of the precious metals, it is not only beautiful but affordable too. No wonder why silver is the most popular jewelry among young adults.Silver jewelries is better for everything. It is fashionable and looks good in everything you wear.

Silver Jewelry History

Silver mining for the use of silver for adornments and jewelry began in the Bronze Age. Known to the Romans as Argentum, silver held a position of esteem among ancient Rome and was restricted to be used only as currency or objects of esteemed importance. You could find silver in the decor of religious buildings and silver utensils in the wealthiest households. But, there was inherent danger in silver mining; silver generally contained lead as well, and lead poisoning was a common side effect for miners. The Roman remedy for this was to have slaves work the mines, who usually died within 2-3 years.

The Greeks used silver as a disinfectant, made their drinking vessels out of silver to avoid contamination of their water, and the Egyptians wrapped wounds in a thin paper-like bandage to keep out infection. The disinfectant properties of silver lead to the exclusive use of silver utensils, drinking vessels, and plates and food storage containers. More recently, on the frontiers of the Wild West, settlers would suspend silver utensils in their drinking water in order to keep it pure and fresher longer.

Silver Purity

Silver is the brightest and shiniest metal in jewelry. Sterling silver jewelry is marked by 925, which symbolizes that it’s 92.5 percent pure silver. This is the most optimal purity level because the 7.5 percent of alloy toughens it just enough for jewelry purposes without taking away too much sheen.

Silver Care

Tips to make your silver jewelry shinier.

1. Silver polish or flannel cloth should get your necklaces shiny bright. Silver polish is kind of pastey/goopy. Coat the necklaces really thoroughly, leave it for 5 minutes or so, wipe it lightly with the flannel cloth ( don’t scrub with toothbrush -Toothbrush bristles — nylon or natural — can scratch soft metals such as sterling. ) and rinse in warm water. Do it at least once a week.

2. DO NOT use baking soda or any type of tooth paste on any jewelry. Not only does it cause very fine surface scratches it is nearly impossible to remove without professional help from all but flat surfaces and will not do justice to your stones either. (From a goldsmith and Unisilver company )

3. Pat it dry. Always wipe it with a flannel cloth to improve it shine.

4. Protect your silver jewelry and store it in a dry place away from moisture and dust. To prevent scratching, store each piece in individual pouches.

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Many people worries about dandruff, how they will make their hair shinier, remedies of dry hair, how to prevent greasy hair and how to avoid hair split ends. Eventually I gather a lot of information about this.

I. Split Ends

Split ends are also known as Trichoptlosis. Split ends occur when the hair cuticle is damaged and the fibers of the cortex unravel. You can prevent Split ends. Exposure of hair to innumerable physical and chemical traumas causes split ends. It is important to get rid of split ends otherwise no hairstyle will look good.

Prevention

Splits ends has no solutions. The only method to get rid of split ends is to regularly trim your hair. Some useful preventive tips are given below:

  1. If you’re using hair color take caution with chemicals. They can make your hair weak and cause split ends.
  2. Get a trim at least every six weeks.
  3. It’s best to use a wide tooth comb if your hair is vulnerable to splitting or use a natural-bristle brush instead of metallic combs and brushes.
  4. When outdoors wear a hat or scarf to minimize sun damage.
  5. To sleep use a satin pillow case to minimize tangles.
  6. Avoid brushing your hair when it is wet and most vulnerable to split or break.
  7. Stop using hair dryers, curling irons, crimpers, hot curlers, and straightening irons.
  8. Use regular conditioner in your hair after shampooing, and a deep conditioner once a month.
  9. Use shampoo with ingredients that include sunscreen and moisturizing cream in your hair if it is extremely dry.

II. Greasy hair

In order to clean excess oil away from the scalp, a homemade remedies for your greasy hair:

  1. Lemon mixed with a quart of good water such as distilled water, makes a great rinse. It is best to use the juice of two lemons and this can really help to reduce the oil on your scalp.
  2. Also, you could use vinegar often for a really good rinse, though it does not smell as good as the lemon! It is better to use white vinegar and it is thought that two tablespoons of the vinegar mixed with one cupful of water should work perfectly. The vinegar acts as a tonic for the scalp and it clears any remaining soap away from the
  3. You could use powder (unscented/scented - baby powder) a little at the root of your hair before straying. If it is a serious problem, put the power on heavily for 15 minutes wash completely, condition lightly, and style. If your scalp is really oily, you could do this every time you wash your hair.

ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

When I went to the malls there are lot of Christmas decors are for sale and as I passed several houses in our place I could see that there are lots of lanterns or Christmas decors placed in front of their houses.. Ha Ha! Christmas is now fast approaching and people were too busy preparing for Christmas.

When was the first Christmas card sent? Why do we kiss under the mistletoe? Learn the origins of Christmas and fun facts about some of our favorite Christmas traditions and symbols.

ORIGIN

goldmanger.gifmonarca_manger.jpg santa.jpg

The word “Christmas” is a contraction of two words “Christ’s mass” and is derived from the Middle English Christemasse and Old English Cristes mæsse, a phrase first recorded in 1038.There are lots of traditions in celebrating Christmas all over the world. These are base in culture and religious practices in every country. Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25 and Christmas Eve is the preceding day, December 24. It is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus.. The date as a birth date for Jesus is traditional, and is not considered to be his actual date of birth.. Many Christmas traditions are relatively recent such as Santa Claus and reindeer and bear no relation to Christmas carols. Christmas carols are based on Christian lyrics and relate, in the main, to the Nativity. Christmas carols were introduced in to church services by St Francis of Assisi in the 12th century. As for the word carols, “carol” is a derivative of the French word caroller, the interpretation of which means dancing around in a circle.

CHRISTMAS DECORATION

tree.JPGchristmas-thumb.jpg

It’s clear that tinsel, green trimmings and electric lights are an important part of most peoples’ holiday. Evergreen trees and garlands were used as decorative symbols of eternal life by ancient Egyptians, Chinese and Hebrews; European pagans sometimes worshiped evergreen trees. By medieval times, western Germans used fir trees to represent the Tree of Paradise in mystery plays about Adam and Eve. They decorated the trees with apples and later with wafers to symbolize the host. The trees grew increasing popular in Germany and settlers introduced them to North America in the 17th century. Many people also decorate with holly, mistletoe and ivy. Decorators started lighting up their trees with electric bulbs in the 1890s. Since then, lights have become an integral part of Christmas decorating.

TRUE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

love-one-another06.jpg

Well, as we all know decoration, parties and preparation of foods are not really much important. The true essence in celebrating of Christ birth are a time to share what you have, forgiveness and loving everyone (including your enemy –even she/he hurts you so much!). You know why? We exist of this world that God give us a gift of Life. We all know that we stumble with so many trials and we could say that life is too unfair… BUT! You shouldn’t be… It is a matter of patience and a constant struggle to survive in this testing ground (World).
