We went to the Unisilver Shop and she bought a necklace for his bf as a present this coming Christmas.

Gold is much expensive than the silver jewelries. But nowadays majority of people likes silver. You know why? If you like the look of platinum, but cannot afford the price tag, silver jewelry is a great alternative. The shiniest of all of the precious metals, it is not only beautiful but affordable too. No wonder why silver is the most popular jewelry among young adults.Silver jewelries is better for everything. It is fashionable and looks good in everything you wear.

Silver Jewelry History

Silver mining for the use of silver for adornments and jewelry began in the Bronze Age. Known to the Romans as Argentum, silver held a position of esteem among ancient Rome and was restricted to be used only as currency or objects of esteemed importance. You could find silver in the decor of religious buildings and silver utensils in the wealthiest households. But, there was inherent danger in silver mining; silver generally contained lead as well, and lead poisoning was a common side effect for miners. The Roman remedy for this was to have slaves work the mines, who usually died within 2-3 years.

The Greeks used silver as a disinfectant, made their drinking vessels out of silver to avoid contamination of their water, and the Egyptians wrapped wounds in a thin paper-like bandage to keep out infection. The disinfectant properties of silver lead to the exclusive use of silver utensils, drinking vessels, and plates and food storage containers. More recently, on the frontiers of the Wild West, settlers would suspend silver utensils in their drinking water in order to keep it pure and fresher longer.

Silver Purity

Silver is the brightest and shiniest metal in jewelry. Sterling silver jewelry is marked by 925, which symbolizes that it’s 92.5 percent pure silver. This is the most optimal purity level because the 7.5 percent of alloy toughens it just enough for jewelry purposes without taking away too much sheen.

Silver Care

Tips to make your silver jewelry shinier.

1. Silver polish or flannel cloth should get your necklaces shiny bright. Silver polish is kind of pastey/goopy. Coat the necklaces really thoroughly, leave it for 5 minutes or so, wipe it lightly with the flannel cloth ( don’t scrub with toothbrush -Toothbrush bristles — nylon or natural — can scratch soft metals such as sterling. ) and rinse in warm water. Do it at least once a week.

2. DO NOT use baking soda or any type of tooth paste on any jewelry. Not only does it cause very fine surface scratches it is nearly impossible to remove without professional help from all but flat surfaces and will not do justice to your stones either. (From a goldsmith and Unisilver company )

3. Pat it dry. Always wipe it with a flannel cloth to improve it shine.

4. Protect your silver jewelry and store it in a dry place away from moisture and dust. To prevent scratching, store each piece in individual pouches.

A Gift could make you feel special…

homegiftideas.gif When I walked inside the mall, the entire Gift Shoppe is spectacular! The stuff toys and a bunch of items were too ideal to give for your family, friends and girlfriend /boyfriend.

I remember when my ex-boyfriend gives me a stuff toy and that was piglet. He knows that I really like piglet stuff toys so he brought me a human size. You know what? I was too happy by that time. Having the thing you really like is awesome. I felt so special and loved.

Actually, I’m giving some few tips so that the receiver of the gift will be delighted base on what you give. First, before you buy anything else you should know what her interest lies in, in this way you will have an idea that the present you give will really appreciate her. Second, be observant on what things that she doesn’t have because you could help her to have these important things she doesn’t acquire. And most of all you should be sincere by giving your present. With this, she knows that you really care.
